In 2023, CITB introduced the Employer Network Scheme, an initiative designed to empower Construction Industry employers giving them easy access to affordable training to allow them to upskill their teams, address the skills gaps and build a stronger future for the Construction Industry.

Through this scheme, CITB-registered employers can claim up to £25,000 in training funding each year to assist them in upskilling their workforce whilst removing the complexity associated with standard funding applications.

How to Access upto 70% off Training Costs

To access upto 70% off your training costs with Certex Training Academy, you must first sign up to the CITB Employer Network. It is FREE to join the Employer Network.

Am I Eligible to Join?

  • You must be a CITB registered employer in the construction industry

  • You must have submitted your most recent levy return

  • You must be up-to-date with any applicable levy payments. If you are exempt from paying a levy, that’s okay, you can still access the funding.

If you can answer YES to all the above then all you need to do check you have an Employer Network in your area and request to join.

How the Discount Works

Once you have joined the Employer Network, simply contact your Advisor direct with details of the Certex training you want your team to undertake.

You DON’T need to get a quote from Certex Training Academy first, as CITB will do everything for you, but if you do spot a suitable course date on our website be sure to mention it to your Advisor to help them.

This training can be in person, on-site at your own premises or even an eLearning course. The training can be in anything that supports construction employers. These could be the trade skills you need right now or something you’ll need in the future.

Your advisor will assess your request on a case by case basis and because the Employer Networks help organise it all, you don’t need to complete any paperwork to apply for funding.

Once approved, your Advisor will contact Certex Training Academy to make the booking for you and our Training Team will then contact you direct to arrange the finer details and arrange payment of your 30% contribution. That’s it! You then register your team onto the training course, attend and receive your certificates direct. CITB and Certex Training Academy will take care of the rest!

Benefits of CITB Employer Network

  • Unlike other CITB schemes, training does not need to be planned in advance and can be booked on an ad-hoc basis and even last minute!

  • Your choice of course doesn’t always need to be mapped to a CITB training standard or a CITB grant scheme if booked via the Employer Network. CITB Employer Network will review your request dependant upon your business case.

  • This funding is separate from other CITB grants, meaning you can get this in addition to other sources of funding and without affecting your eligibility for other CITB grants.

  • You don’t need to complete any paperwork to apply for this funding. Simply call your Employer Network Advisor.

  • Only pay 30% of the training cost upfront to Certex Training Academy. CITB will pay the other 70% for you. No back claims! No cash flow implications whilst waiting for refunds!
