Rigging Loft Management Training

This two-day LEEA-accredited course is designed for those responsible for managing and maintaining rigging lofts. Delivered by experienced LEEA-accredited trainers and supported by real-world insight from our active inspection engineers, the course combines essential theory with hands-on training. Delegates will learn how to control and inspect lifting accessories, maintain accurate records, implement effective quarantine procedures, and ensure compliance with relevant standards and legislation, including LOLER and PUWER.
Course Information

Ensure LOLER Compliance: Meet the requirements of the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) by ensuring all lifting operations are carried out safely and that equipment is fit for use.
Demonstrate Competency: Gain the knowledge and practical skills required to be deemed competent in performing thorough examinations and pre-use inspections, as required by law.
Promote a Safer Workplace: Support your legal duty as an employer by implementing safe systems of work and ensuring that personnel involved with lifting equipment are properly trained and qualified.

Lifting Engineers: Gain a clear understanding of the requirements and procedures for conducting thorough examinations in line with UK legislation.
Lifting Equipment Users: Learn how to identify risks and defects, and carry out effective pre-use inspections to ensure equipment safety.
Site Managers: Enhance awareness of legal responsibilities, safety obligations, and risk management related to lifting operations on site.
Procurement Personnel: Develop knowledge of the different types of lifting equipment to support informed and compliant purchasing decisions.
Sales Professionals: Improve understanding of lifting equipment applications, types, and key benefits to better support client needs and sales conversations.

Demonstrate Regulatory Knowledge: Understand and apply relevant legislation and regulations governing lifting equipment.
Understand Key Responsibilities: Identify and explain the roles and responsibilities of personnel involved in the examination of lifting equipment.
Recognise Equipment Types: Develop knowledge of various lifting equipment types and their intended applications.
Apply Correct Terminology: Accurately interpret and use terminology and definitions associated with lifting equipment and examinations.
Understand Safe Lifting Practices: Understand the control measures established by legislation to ensure the ongoing safety and integrity of lifting equipment.
Conduct Pre-Use Inspections: Perform effective pre-use inspections to identify obvious defects or issues before operation.
Carry Out Thorough Examinations: Conduct Thorough Examinations on a range of lifting equipment in line with current standards and best practices.
Identify and Report Defects: Recognise common defects in lifting equipment and follow correct reporting procedures.
Complete Documentation: Accurately complete reports of thorough examination and any required supporting documentation.

Each participant must pass a theory assessment to demonstrate a solid understanding of the course content.
They must also successfully carry out pre use inspections on multiple items of lifting equipment.

Timing: 9am - 4pm (End times can vary depending on delegate number and experience)
Arrival time: Course participants should arrive at 8.45am prompt.

For those attending training at the Certex Training Academy, all other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided. However, you are welcome to bring your own PPE if you prefer.
