Turbine Mounted Safety Equipment (TMSE) Examination Training

This two-day course provides participants with the theoretical and practical skills to carry out installation and thorough examinations of Turbine Mounted Safety Equipment (TMSE) in accordance with PUWER, OEM guidance and the Working at Height Regulations. Delivered by experienced LEEA-accredited trainers and backed by real world insight from our active inspection engineers, it combines essential theory with hands-on practical training to equip course participants with the skills needed to assess equipment condition, identify defects, and apply relevant discard criteria in line with industry standards and legal requirements.

    • Ensure Compliance with PUWER: Meet the legal requirements by ensuring that all turbine mounted safety equipment (TMSE) is suitable, maintained, and inspected to support turbine safety.

    • Demonstrate Competence: Acquire the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to support competency in conducting thorough examinations, installation and pre use inspections of turbine mounted safety equipment (TMSE), in accordance with legal requirements.

    • Promote a Safer Workplace: Fulfil your duty as an employer by implementing safe systems of work and ensuring that all personnel conducting inspections and installation of turbine mounted safety equipment (TMSE) are properly trained and qualified.

    • TMSE Inspectors: Gain a clear understanding of the requirements and procedures for conducting thorough examinations in line with UK legislation.

    • TMSE Users: Learn how to identify risks and defects, and carry out effective pre-use inspections to ensure equipment safety.

    • Understand Safe Working Practices: Understand the control measures established by legislation to ensure the ongoing safety and integrity of TMSE.

    • Conduct Pre-Use Inspections: Perform effective pre-use inspections to identify obvious defects or issues before operation.

    • Carry Out Thorough Examinations: Conduct Thorough Examinations on a range of TMSE in line with current standards and best practices.

    • Identify and Report Defects: Recognise common defects in TMSE and follow correct reporting procedures.

    • Complete Documentation: Accurately complete reports of thorough examination and any required supporting documentation.

    • Installation: Understand how to safely install various anchor point types and ladder fall arrest systems.

  • Each participant must pass a theory assessment to demonstrate a solid understanding of the course content.

    They must also successfully carry out thorough examinations on multiple items of equipment and complete detailed inspection reports based on their findings. Anchor point installation and wire system installation.

  • There are no prerequisites to attend this course.

  • Contact Hours Inclusive of Breaks: 14

    Course Timing: 9am - 4pm (End times can vary depending on course participant numbers and experience)

    Arrival Time: Course participants should arrive at 8.45am prompt.

  • Each participant must pass a theory assessment to demonstrate a solid understanding of the course content.

  • ID

    Each participant is required to produce photographic ID on the first day of the course. Failure to do so will result in the participant being unable to participate.

    Acceptable Forms of ID:

    • Photo Driving Licence

    • Passport

    PPE

    Please attend this training course wearing safety boots.

    All other PPE will be provided however you are welcome to bring your own if preferred.

    If the training is being conducted at your company's site, please consult your employer regarding the specific PPE requirements in accordance with your company's site safety policy.
